Country Cottage Bake Shop was established in 1988 and has been baking authentic Slovak kolach for over thirty-five years! Our third generation recipe, from the village of Siroke, Slovakia, is made with fresh yeast requiring it to raise overnight. The following day, it is hand rolled, filled with the appropriate filling, and baked until golden brown! It has brought consistent raves of “this tastes just like my grandmother made”, “I haven’t had this in years!”, “I’m so glad I found you”, and “thank you for making my Christmas shopping easy!”.

We use only the highest quality ingredients and do not add preservatives to our products. Our walnut filling is made here in the bakery with 100% fine ground California english walnuts. Our poppyseed filling is smooth and tasty. The apricot, lekvar (prune), seedless red raspberry fillings and pumpkin cheese are the highest quality available. All our ingredients are produced in the USA! All of our rolls are zero trans fat. Each kolach is approximately 15” long, weighs about 1-1/2 lbs and yields approximately twenty, 3/4” slices.

STORAGE INFORMATION

Our kolach is baked and shipped fresh via UPS. Since no preservatives are added, please enjoy within four days of arrival or freeze to preserve freshness. To defrost, thaw at room temperature 6-8 hours, or overnight.
